Marion’s singing encompasses a range of genres and she has specialised in music of the baroque as well as performing in classical and romantic opera, art song and oratorio. Among the companies she has sung for are Opera Holland Park and Opera Project, and she undertook the role of Eurydice with the Manning Camerata’s premier of Thebes, which was the first opera ever to be performed at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre. She has also performed opera arias at The Royal Festival Hall, Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall and St. David’s Hall, Cardiff. As a soloist she has worked with the conductors Paul Goodwin, Peter Manning, Peter Holman, Christian Curnyn, Anthony Inglis and David Angus. Marion was selected as the guest soloist for tenor Russell Watson’s UK tour, singing arias and duets from La Traviata and La Boheme. Recent highlights have included a performance of Schumann’s Frauenliebe und-leben and a concert of baroque masterpieces with the Patrick Norohna Orchestra under Cathal Garvey.
Marion often performs to raise money for charity and was invited to Sudan to perform for the Charity ‘Realise the Dream’, which raises money for the Sudanese Paralympics Team. She has performed at many high-profile events including the opening of the Harrods sale alongside Enrico Iglesias at the invitation of Mohammed al Fayed. Marion has also worked for Italian television playing an opera singer and recently recorded the soundtrack for the independent Italian film ‘Maremmamara’, which is due for imminent release. Marion’s most recent work has been for the Italian opera company Villaincanto for whom she played Kate Pinkerton in Madam Butterfly and Madadalena in Rigoletto. And several Opera Nights for Relais and Chateau featuring the worlds most beloved opera arias.

I have known Marion Wilmann in a professional capacity for a number of years, conducting her in numerous concerts and working with her as an accompanist. She is not only an artist of consummate ability and technical perfection, but an artist who is reliable and willing to give of her best on all occasions. If you ask Miss Wilmann to perform at a concert, know you are getting someone who is reliable, will turn up on time perfectly prepared and then perform for the audience in such a manner that will ensure a successful evening. On every occasion she has sung with me, she has been an absolute delight as I have had no need to ask her to change anything or indeed remind her of words, notes or any other aspect of her performance. I am sure she would apply this ethic in any area of work she undertakes and unhesitatingly recommend her to anyone thinking of employing Miss Wilmann.
