Derek was invited to perform as Winston Churchill at the Wyton Officers' Mess 1940s Summer Ball 2017. His performance was outstanding, professional and made the evening one of the most enjoyable events ever held in the Mess. His Battle of Britain speech was immaculate and timed perfectly for the arrival of the Spitfire display. For the remainder of the evening, he mingled with the guests, answered all their questions about the great man, and afforded everybody the opportunity to have a photograph with him.
