Down With Love is a dynamic vocal swing duo, taking you on a journey through some of the world’s best loved swing music. Becky and John were both born into show business and spent their childhoods surrounded legends of the stage, screen, and music world.
John Moakes was born in Nottinghamshire and grew up in a big band environment travelling the country with his father, Lennie Moakes, a trumpet player with the world-famous Syd Lawrence Orchestra. Watching and meeting renowned singers like Matt Monroe and Tony Bennett inspired John to enter the music business himself. Consequently, John was just eighteen when he joined his first cruise ship and it wasn’t long before he was fronting his own band on board and organising Captain’s parties, tea dances, black and white balls, and other musical entertainment.
Becky was born in London and spent her young years surrounded by music and dance. Her Mother, June Miller, was a dancer and choreographer and her father, Pat Dailey, was one half of the TV comedy duo, Dailey, and Wayne. Her first time on stage was at the tender age of 2 years old, where she immediately fell in love with her audience. Becky has performed all over the world in Film, TV, Stage and as a recording artist.
Down With Love will transport you back to a world of music using their voices alongside John’s skills on the Trumpet to make you smile, reminisce, dance and sing along. This is one not to be missed!
