The British Imperial Military Band is a professional band combining ex-military musicians from all three services.
The band is one of the few remaining British military bands. The musicians in the band are all former serving members of the armed services: Royal Marines, Army or Royal Air Force. Our combined talents provide a unique blend of experience, expertise and tradition.
Our professional uniformed musicians allow us the adaptability to provide:
- Trumpet player for a funeral or a wedding
- Fanfare teams
- Small groups such as a Clarinet Quartet, Brass and Wind Quintets
- Small band ensembles for dinners and functions
- Large ensembles for marching and concert band formations
Marching Band

Concert Band
The British Imperial Military Band is one of the few professional civilian marching bands in the UK. Uniquely, the band combines ex-military musicians from all three British services: The Royal Marines, The Army and The Royal Air Force. Our musicians draw upon the experience and knowledge of years of their military service to provide the very best in military music. This expertise will ensure that any bespoke needs can be catered for within your event.
12 PIECE OR 16 PIECE
Our 12-piece & 16-piece marching bands are our smallest marching band combinations. These marching band ensembles enable us to provide musical support to small venues and events.
These sized bands have performed in venues such as: The Ritz Hotel, London; on-board The Cunard and P&O cruise ships, and for small party events such as birthday parties in restaurants and private houses in this country and around the world.
21 PIECE Band
Our 21-piece marching band is our most commonly booked ensemble. The 21-piece band is ideal for indoor and smaller outside venues, for example, performing on a large, staged area or dance floor, playing outside as guest arrive, leading a parade, or simply adding pomp and ceremony to your own event.
25 PIECE Band
Our 25-piece marching band is a great sized band for a slightly bigger venue which could be in or outdoors.
This combination is musically one of the best combinations, covering all the musical parts in the military band ensemble which inevitably gives the best balanced and overall sound.
OUR LARGER MARCHING BANDS
Our other larger marching ensembles guarantee show and grandeur. These are for large outdoor or indoor arena events, where the spectacle of size matters!
Examples include performing on race circuits or to a large audience in a venue leading an annual carnival procession or for the opening of a product launch.
These larger marching band combinations will leave a lasting impression.
Fanfare Trumpeters
There is nothing quite like a military fanfare team to make an announcement or shout ‘we have arrived!’.
The moment is captured as a snapshot of uniforms, trumpets with banners hanging and the boom of a grand fanfare ringing around the building or entrance hall.
This package is available with our own banners and backing cards, or there is an opportunity for you to have bespoke banners and backing cards provided by us to enhance the corporate image or the personal impact of your event.

Guard of Honour
The Band has its own set of 6 ceremonial swords which are used to provide a stunning guard of honour at both weddings and other events. This can be to escort guests into and out of a venue
Corps of Drums
Our Corps of Drums can add a dramatic burst of sound to lead a procession or gain the attention of the public before an announcement.
Our drummers have been used to provide drumbeats as personnel process to receive awards at a ceremony or to announce a guest speaker onto their stage. We have marched athletes to the boxing ring and have accompanied the Olympic flame through London. Memorably, we have led many a carnival procession, and even been the 12 drummers drumming for a Christmas parade as town lights are switched on!
